The ultimate goal of our Clinical Nurse Leader Rounding program is to truly make it a tool that will be used every day of the year where your Nurse Leader will find that our program is truly an effective tool for their daily routine rounding activities.

Nurse leader rounding can be called purposeful rounding when the nursing staff offers empathy, show deep listening skills, and most important offer an understanding of the patient and their needs during clinical nurse leader rounding.  Being proactive rather

than reactive will promote quality and patient safety.  This approach will build relationships and trust.  And most important, meet the patient's physical and emotional needs.  Frequent and purposeful rounding will improve patient satisfaction, have a reduction in

bed falls, and reduced patient call light use.

It all starts with the Nurse Leader - an activity that is done daily on a routine basis - that can be a 2 to 3 hr in duration.  For this reason, a proven and effective rounding program is needed.
